Official Zapata Record Contacts

This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot verify custody, arrange release, post bond, or obtain official booking records. Contact the agency or court that holds the record for those services.

Booking and Custody Routing

The Zapata County Sheriff’s Office is the official first contact for a county booking record, jail-register entry, booking photograph request, or current-custody routing. The reviewed sheriff page does not list independent records hours, a records email, an online request form, a booking-photo fee, a public roster, or a fixed response deadline. Call first and ask for the current public-information contact and expected timing.

Zapata County Sheriff’s Office
Sheriff Ramon Montes
200 E. 7th Ave., Ste. 415
Zapata, TX 78076
Phone: 956-765-9960
Fax: 956-765-9941
Hours: not published on the reviewed official page

The county directory separately lists a regional-jail entry at 2301 Kennedy, Zapata, with 956-765-8615 and fax 956-765-3242, plus a women’s-jail entry at 7th Avenue and Hidalgo Boulevard with 956-765-9981. Those entries are routing leads, not a records-unit designation. Confirm the current location and contact with the sheriff before visiting or mailing a request.

Where to Direct Each Question

Use the source that matches the record and custody state. A booking event, a court disposition, state-prison location, and federal or immigration custody are held in different systems.

  • For a county booking record or photo request, follow the Zapata booking-record path and contact the sheriff.
  • For a county criminal-court matter, contact the Zapata County Clerk: Mary Jayne Villarreal-Bonoan, 200 E. 7th Ave., Ste. 138, Zapata, TX 78076, 956-765-9915.
  • For district-court routing, the state directory lists District Clerk Dora A. Martinez Castanon at 200 E. 7th Ave., Ste. 119, Zapata, TX 78076, 956-765-9930; use iDocket or re:SearchTX where appropriate.
  • For an eligible state-prison locator result, use the TDCJ inmate search. It is not a Zapata jail roster or public photo service.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the official BOP locator or ICE locator, which have different custody coverage.

For immediate danger, call 911. Do not approach a person based on a warrant notice or a news report. The warrant-routing page explains how to ask the sheriff or court for an official status check.
